Our mission is to empower people around end of life and make the pain of death a little lighter through curated information, resources, support and community.

BRINGING LIGHT TO DEATH

Our Philosophy

We believe everyone should have a good end of life, death, and passage to whatever is next.

That information and options can help an individual and their loved ones select the right choices for them. That it should be personal and unique.

That hard conversations and planning ahead can help take out some of the stress at the end and help people live their lives to the fullest.

And that as hard as it is to lose someone, the final moments can be beautiful and a celebration of love.

Our Story

Papillon was founded by Alison Lawler-Dean, a brand builder and former journalist who has turned her marketing and editing eye to an industry that needs to better serve modern living and dying.

After losing both parents in very different ways to the same disease (cancer), Alison felt called to share what had helped her through difficult times and curate the information that she couldn’t find when she really needed it.

She hopes this information will help lighten the load for others caring for loved ones at end of life and help people have the best possible death.

Our Principles

Modern

We should be able to navigate through this milestone with the same quality of experience we do in so many other areas of our modern lives.

Personal

Each journey should be personal and personalized. Unique to the individual and their loved ones as a team facing this final life stage.

Empowered

We should have information and access to all of the new and innovative available options and be able to evolve our wishes as regulation, science and technology does.

Sustainable

Access to options that are better for our communities and the planet.
